Equipment for sugar plants

Steam for the crushing season, from bagasse firing and from heat that would otherwise leave the boiler or the turbine.

A sugar mill lives on steam through the season: juice heating, evaporation and, where the mill exports power, the turbine. Grandeh fabricates industrial steam boilers and pressure parts for that duty, including bagasse-fired package and field-erected boilers, from the Aurangabad works.

Steam and recovered heat

Bagasse moisture and the daily steam swing of a mill are design inputs, not afterthoughts. Tell us the steam flow, pressure and the fuel moisture and we size the boiler around them. Where exhaust from a boiler or turbine still holds useful heat, a waste heat recovery boiler can raise more steam for the process header or the turbine without another fuel fire.

Combustion-air temperature still matters on biomass. A steam coil air preheater lifts air temperature at start-up and low load, and it keeps the main air heater’s cold end warmer when the flue gas is acidic.

Fuel side

Fuel handling for bagasse and other solid fuels has to stay aligned with the boiler. Moisture, sizing and how the fuel arrives at the furnace decide both steam stability and the air-heater duty. Share those with the steam figures in one enquiry.

What to send with an enquiry

  • Crushing capacity and steam demand through the season
  • Steam pressure and temperature at the header
  • Bagasse moisture and any supplementary fuel
  • Whether the scope is a new boiler, pressure parts or heat recovery on an existing unit
